The color of the day - GRAY (or is it grey). I looked up the definition. Grey - another form of GRAY. Gray - ancient, dreary, overcast. Yes, that is the definition of the day.
With the weather behaving in this normal Spring fashion, BK came in shortly after midnight. He is the only one who has not gone out all day. All three "house cats" have gone out to sniff around, eat grass, and explore the puddles. Then one of them came inside, ate food, and decorated the rug. Super.
My support team has been in touch today. Call from Florida not only encouraging my job hunt, but pressing me to do more. Messages from former coworkers with similar content.
Considering self-nomination to one of the various Boards found in Illinois government. The governor has asked all citizens to consider joining a board (for the experience). Most pay expenses only.
New head (nominated, but not yet confirmed) of the Illinois DNR was written up in the local paper. Originally from Mattoon, not more than 25 miles from here. I will send my letter of introduction to him - who knows, I might get a job yet.
Training now in high gear (and it is about time). Indy Mini is less than two weeks away. My partners are now in the tapering phase. None of us will attempt a PR with this race - bad knees, bad legs, and poor training. That about covers the excuses. Stay tuned for the next update.
