Easter Eggs

Just in case you have ever wondered why Easter Eggs are colored, this morning when "we" (the furry ones and I) awoke, the ancient question was solved. White stuff on the ground, which would make the annual hunt very difficult for the really short people. Who would be able to find the white eggs against this background (on the other hand, hiding the eggs would be pretty simple - just tuck them in a small pile of snow)?

Actually, a late snow fall looks great against the green of the new grass. Of course, with all the recent rain, that grass is now pretty much out of control. I hope the weather will cooperate enough to get the first mowing done by Wednesday morning. Otherwise, I will be buying goats this year!

The employment situation (or lack there of) continues to increase in importance. However, note my previous "birthday blog" and my goal of not complaining about the politicians. So I will not express my real feelings at this time (I am not, however, convinced that this goal will be achievable).

Meanwhile, we in Illinois can celebrate with the developments last week that lead to the indictment of the former governor. We can hope that this will lead to real reform for the state's politics (but then again, this is Illinois).

Hamstring was a tad tight this weekend, so instead of running I opted for a 6-mile walk on Saturday. I think running is a lot easier than attempting to maintain close to a 4-mplh walking pace for an hour and a half.
