What a treat - friends came two weeks ago and decided to camp. Of course, the backpacker in me was concerned. After all, I've known the folks for a very long time (Rex since high school and Doris since the early 1970s). They aren't the RV types.
In fact, I was most pleasantly surprised at their luxury accommodations at Eagle Creek State Park. I had completed reconnaissance earlier in the week and identified the park was open and ready for visitors. There is a segregated area for tent campers, and all the other sites have electricity.
They called from the campground on Friday night. We met in town for dinner. I didn't see their palatial accommodations until Saturday.

After coffee on Saturday morning I drove over to the campground. Rex and Doris campsite certainly did not disappoint. Their rig was on its maiden voyage. Designed to be transported behind a motorcycle, this pop-up is all one really requires. It has a double bed, and a standup area that provides room for storage and standing. Apparently, there is a zip-on that provides sheltered parking for your bike (or could be used for additional camping activities. I want one. This is the next step up from carrying your shelter on your back, and they took advantage of the electricity (electric blanket and heater).
